The Best of Kenny’s 2012 Reading List
Welcome to The Best of Kenny’s 2012 Reading List. I have to confess I’ve nicked this idea off a writer friend’s blog (thanks Cherese) but it fits in quite nicely with the end of the year theme for my blog. This year, on Goodreads, I set myself a challenge to read 50 books. It doesn’t sounds like that many books if you look at other people’s targets of over 100 books (sheesh) but I figured one book a week is not bad going for me. Although I’m a fairly fast reader and tend to have two books on the go, I do have other things to do besides read – e.g., write my own stuff. Well, I’m pleased to announce that I hit and passed my target a few weeks ago. Below is a list of all the books I rated 5 stars and a few 4 stars that also deserve a mention. I’ve linked to my Goodreads reviews, if people want to check out what I thought (they’re all terribly short so don’t expect too much).
5 stars
The Other Side of the Story by Marian Keyes (this was definitely my favourite read of the year)
Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom
The King’s Concubine by Anne O’Brien
You Are A Writer (So Start Acting Like One) by Jeff Goins
The Help by Kathryn Stockett
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Harry Potter #7) by J. K. Rowling
The Rockstar’s Daughter (Treadwell Academy #1) by Caitlyn Duffy
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (Harry Potter #3) by J. K. Rowling
4 stars (worth mentioning)
This Thirtysomething Life: A Diary by Jon Rance
Mockingjay (The Hunger Games #3) by Suzanne Collins
The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games #1) by Suzanne Collins
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (Harry Potter #6) by J. K. Rowling
Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix (Harry Potter #5) by J. K. Rowling
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Harry Potter #4) by J. K. Rowling
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (Harry Potter #2) by J. K. Rowling

Thanks for the shout out. So what’s you reading challenge number now? I was at 72 last I checked. My goal was 65. I’m still reading.
I’m on 55 out of 50 at the moment but have two or three books lined up to finish before the year runs out (hopefully). If the world ends on Friday though, I think I’d have to stop at 55
Cool. I should finish this book and I guess I need to post another story before Friday.
We’re running out of time…
What a fun list! Lots of great books! I love the HP series! I also read The Help this year and thought it was fabulous.
I’m looking forward to reading more fab books in 2013
