Broken Ties: Cover Reveal…sort of…

My Facebook page followers would have already seen the spanking new cover for the latest book in the Mentalist Series, Broken Ties, so this is not really a grand reveal. Yes, you guessed it; I will not be staging a reveal across many sites this time. It was fun to do for Aversion and Sentient but involved a lot of management which I (unfortunately) haven’t had the luxury of time to pursue. I’ll aim to go all out for Keepers, when the time comes. Once again, thanks to Neso, Okey, Chizoba, Chioma, Dumebi and most especially to my Mum for making the comments that transformed this cover from so-so to brilliant (at least I think it’s brilliant).

Hope you guys like it. Broken Ties will be out in May.

Blurb:

“There was nothing unusual about the night everything changed. No flashing lights in the sky, no searing fire in my belly; no sign whatsoever to suggest the shift that was to come…Nora Brice did strange things to me. Strange and awful things…”

Paul Colt has a problem, and it is not one most teenage boys face. Yes, he likes a girl; one he’s pretty certain he’ll do foolish things for, given the chance. But he can’t go after her, or any other girl for that matter. That’s what he gets for being an Averter; forced to toe the line for the propagation of the collective. He knows some rules are okay to trifle with, and there are some which should never be broken. The gravest of them all?

Don’t fall in love.

Ever.

This is the story of how Paul breaks that rule.

This prequel novella to the Mentalist Series can be read before or after Aversion, Book One of The Mentalist Series.

The return of The Lost One…sort of…

First of all, I’d like to apologise to all my readers for my long silence this year. I’ve wanted to put up a post for a while, but I’ve been swamped with (bill-paying) work and writing. Fear not though, there’s a lot in the pipelines for this year, so this is a quick catch up for everyone who is interested (thank you to everyone who’s asked about the blog).

As some readers of the Mentalist Series know, I’m hoping to release Keepers (Book Three of The Mentalist Series) this winter and work on that is underway. In addition to that, I’ve written a prequel novella to The Mentalist Series which will hopefully be available by late spring/early summer, so keep an eye out for it. I’ve also signed up to contribute to what looks to be a promising fairy-tale anthology, organised by The Bearded Scribe, which has a summer deadline. This all means I’ve been incredibly busy this year! See why I haven’t blogged much?

Sticking with writing, I recently got acknowledged as a contributor to the amazing literacy charity, Worldreader, which provides free e-readers (loaded with books) to children in developing countries. So thrilled to be listed with the likes of Nnedi Okorafor! Any authors/writers reading this should please consider donating their work to this brilliant cause. There are other great and exciting things happening in the background which I can’t reveal at the moment but, if they come to pass, you’ll be hearing about them here first. Promise!

I’ll end with something fun. A friend posted this on her Facebook page and I was shocked (in a good way) to see I had read 35 of the 100 books – BBC Believes You Only Read 6. I have about five more books on the list in my library at home waiting to be read, so I better get to them. What’s your count?
